Client overview
A direct-to-consumer home goods brand selling through its own storefront and marketplace channels, with paid social as the primary acquisition engine.
Creative was produced by an external studio on a project basis, batched into quarterly shoots.
The problem
The creative refresh cycle ran six weeks, while ad fatigue set in within ten to fourteen days on the primary channel.
Quarterly batch shoots produced polished assets that could not respond to what performance data showed the week after launch.
There was no feedback loop: the studio never saw performance results, so the next batch repeated concepts that had already underperformed.
The goals
Reduce the concept-to-live cycle from six weeks to under one week.
Establish a feedback loop so performance data informs the next round of concepts.
Build production capability that survives the end of the engagement.
Strategy
Trade polish for velocity where velocity wins. Paid social rewards relevance and volume over production value, so we shifted the mix toward faster, lighter formats shot on a repeatable setup.
Make the data visible to the people making the work. Editors joined the weekly performance call, so concept decisions were informed by what actually performed rather than relayed second-hand.
Systematise, don't improvise. We built briefing templates, a shot-list format and an asset naming convention so the loop runs the same way every week regardless of who is staffing it.
How the work ran
The delivery sequence, start to handover.
Creative audit
Reviewed twelve months of ad creative against performance data to identify which formats, hooks and framings actually held attention.
Format library
Defined six repeatable short-form formats that could be shot on a consistent setup without a full production crew.
Weekly sprint design
Established the loop: brief Monday, shoot Wednesday, edit Thursday, launch Friday, review the following Monday.
Feedback instrumentation
Built a shared dashboard so editors and strategists review the same performance data before each briefing session.
Team enablement
Trained the in-house marketing coordinator to run the sprint, with templates and documentation for each stage.
